The Kingz won all sets with 16-10, 16-8, and 15-10. If the Kingz win today’s match, they will become the first semester high school champs. Another season will start after the holidays.
The Kingz cruised by the first two sets but ran through some obstacles in the final set. Both they and team Yo Face changed leads twice before the latter came from behind and tied the scores.
Yo Face players improved their game in the third set as YJ Nakayama punched the ball into the Kingz’ goal for three points. Nakayama was his team’s heavy hitter with two kees and a goal for seven points.
He was bested by Kingz’ Jason Limes, who scored one ace, two kees, and two goals for 12 points. Limes’ points attributed to his consistency at the net and backcourt.
In the first game, Kingz’ J.R. Pelisamen rallied his team to victory. Yesterday however, it was Jason who accounted for about 30 percent of his team’s points.
The Kingz outscored their foes 2-0 in aces, 1-0 in xunks, 6-1 in kees, and 2-1 in goals.
Aces and xunks are two-point serves, while kees are two-point backcourt scores made by either team’s goalie. A goal is worth three points and can be scored by any player on court.
All players must follow a requirement in terms of Grade Point Average. ‘GPA’ also means ‘Good Personal Attitude’ in Rocball.
