Tournament coordinator, Joey Dela Cruz said the winning team for this round will compete against the winners of Round 1 and Round 2 as soon as the number of teams for the final round is completed.
The 2008 King and Queen of the Diamond champion for CNMI will then go to Palau to compete with two teams from Palau and one team from Guam.
Dela Cruz also announced that the Wild Card round will be held on Oct. 4 and 5, and the final tournament will be on Oct. 11 and 12.
Shell Marianas has dominated the first and second round of this year’s tournament that continues to draw more teams as it moves on.
Natibu that won second place in the second leg last Aug. 2 and 3 secured the second slot of the final round since Shell Marianas already got the first slot after topping the first leg early last month.
Sai-pal and Total Chaos that placed second and third respectively during the first leg are the first two teams in the Wild Card round. The same two teams were in the same order during the second round trailing Natibu and giving away the next pair of slot in the Wild Card round to Sufa Team and On The Rocks.
The Wild Card will be a single-elimination round for one slot in the final round.
The Team Natibu during the second leg started with a 9-1 loss to Sai-Pal but rallied to the second place to win the second slot for the final round beating Sufa in 10-run mercy rule.
Natibu defeated Total Chaos, 8-0 in the succeeding game with Marly Techur going deep as he pitched seven scoreless innings.
Starting with a five-run first inning, Manny Evangelista hit a go-ahead single and scored two runs. BJ Sablan hit a double and Pete Teigita added two singles.
Sai-Pal sluggers started great as they defeated On the Rocks, 25-9 in second game and routed Natibu in Game 4, but the Natibu came back with vengeance beating Sai-Pal, 8-2 that went in a double-header the following day.
