Buren who was just a few points shy to hit the Top 15 scorers continued to pick up in the last three games of this month.
The center scored the first eight points for DCCA and scattered 39 points in the court including his seven three- pointers.
He stretched the lead in the second quarter with three three- pointers, then went on to rampage in the third to keep DCCA ahead by seven points in the end of the third quarter.
Elias Rangamar who was the 10th highest scorer as of Aug. 1 consistently put up a tight defense and committed two fouls. However, he also got fouled and basketed his five free throws.
Rangamar fired three three-pointers and finished with 27 points.
Derron Flores scored 19 points including two three-point shots and Connie Camacho added 17 points.
Camacho also exploded with three three-pointers in the final quarter to widen the gap.
Abong Camacho who placed second among the Top 15 scorers with a total of 161 points in six games did not see action last Tuesday
Edgar Pangelinan and Frank Iglesias rallied in the first to close the gap to one point. Pangelinan tried to keep pace with DCCA by basketing two-pointers in the second quarter but Buren’s extra effort in the absence of Abong Camacho left him carrying the team almost single-handedly.
