If you’ve ever wanted to go on a road-trip of Saipan with your friends or family while competing for cash and other prizes, now is your chance.
This motoring event is not only entertaining but it gives you a chance to match your wits with the organizer who presents a hidden course for you to navigate. Each team works together to find their way to the end while deciphering instructions that may contain diagrams and smiley faces.
“Every year we have had returning drivers and navigators who are ready for a new challenge. Last year’s winners, Peter Bonser and Lorraine Liwiski were veteran competitors, although second place contestants, Andrew Moses and Anna Manibusan and the third place team comprised of Lee and Kathleen Bowen were new contestants. The instructions are a little crazy, but if you pay attention to detail and stay on course, you have a great chance at finishing on top”, says Car Rally master and Beach Road Magazine account manager, Susan Marchitti.
Marchitti hopes some adventurous tourists will join this year, and she’d like to see more company-sponsored teams.
“This event is great for the whole family and fun to do with your kids. You may even find that your kids are better at it then you are!” she said.
The rally is open to drivers 16 years and older. Each car is required to have a driver and as many navigators as needed to complete the course. Registration is $15 and space is limited. Grab a copy of Beach Road Magazine for entry forms, fill them out and submit to the Glimpses of Saipan office on the second floor of the Transpac Business Center along Middle Road, Gualo Rai (near Subway restaurant) during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Every team can expect a prize just for making it through the course. So gear up and get ready for the most challenging car event of the year. See Beach Road Magazine print ads for details.
