8th Annual Marianas Windsurfing Cup set for Nov. 7 – 8

Set in the picture perfect blue lagoon of Saipan, the competition will put hometown enthusiasts against competitors from Guam and Japan.

This year’s event will also be featured in Hi-Wind magazine of Japan, the most widely read publication for windsurfing and active sports enthusiasts in Japan.  The monthly publication also promotes destinations with ideal windsurfing conditions.

“As part of our mandate to promote the Northern Marianas to the traveling public, our sponsorship of this event helps our destination stand out as a premier sports paradise to potential visitors,” MVA Managing Director Perry Tenorio said.

The competition will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., off the white sand beach of Hyatt Regency Saipan.

Registration will be held beachside on Friday, Nov. 6, from 3 to 6 p.m. The daily skipper’s meeting will also take place beachside on November 7 and 8 from 9-10 a.m.
