Zapanta struggled in Game 1 tallying only 158 pin falls behind Zack Cruz who scored 182; Manuel Joseph Aldan, 167; Nikko Gutierrez and Troy Verdaguer who both scored 166 pinfalls.
The young monthly ace improved to 168 pinfalls in Game 2 but trailed Leeanne Yarobwemal who had 180 pinfalls.
In Game 3, Zapanta struck 197 and repeated this feat in Game 4 besting Cruz and the rest of his opponents, tallying 182 pinfalls.
He tallied a total of 705 pinfalls, besting Cruz who had 667 pinfalls.
Zapanta has two more months to complete the sweep of Saipan Bowling Association’s youth tournament this year and prepare for the annual championship which Cruz won last year.
In Budweiser King & Queen of the Lanes, Raul Dumapit who did not play in the first day defeated Percy Omechelang last Monday to win the monthly title.
Dumapit did not top in any of the four games but he kept himself in the safe slot to eke out a total of 897 pinfalls against Omechelang’s final pinfalls of 880.
Alex Cacdac placed third with 858 pinfalls; Robert Talavera settled for fourth with 847 pinfalls and Raymond Angeles, 844 pinfalls.
Diane Camacho had a good start on Saturday setting the highest total pinfalls of 754. This prevailed on Sunday handing her the monthly title as Ron Cal fell behind with 714 pinfalls to take the second place.
Emi Williams who improved in Game 4 with 192 pinfalls finished third with a total of 696 pinfalls.
Also making it to the top five were Diane Chong who tallied 669 pinfalls and Gigi Zapanta, 664 pinfalls.
