A PLUS kicked off the Masters “Internal” Basketball League by crushing Latte Built, 112-70, at the Ada gym on Saturday.

In the opening quarter, A Plus was led by Andrew “Uncle Drew” Ashburn with 10 points while teammate Joel Javier delivered eight points from inside the paint.

Latte Built was only able to score two buckets while A Plus widened its lead, 29-6.

In the second canto, Latte Built tried to match up on the offensive end with Albert Pangan and Noel Conti on the frontline, but their team failed to make their presence felt defensively.

Latte Built continued to fall further behind, missing several shots while handing A Plus more scoring opportunities.

Ashburn and Javier continued to light up the scoreboard during the third period while teammates Jun Estolas and George De Guzman powered through the final quarter, combining for 16 points to lead A Plus to victory, 112-70.

The tournament is an “internal” league for the masters division. No entrance fee was required but all players must pay $4 per game.

Interested teams have to submit their waiver forms and rosters, and their players must be 40 years old and above.

At the moment there are five participating teams: A Plus, Latte Built, Old Aces, OG Aces and Hoopaholics.

The tournament will follow a round robin format.
