Opening ceremonies launches Sunday, August 1 at five in the afternoon at the Palau Track and Field that will showcase a parade of different athletes, delegations, and game officials with their flags of the ten island nation within the region of Micronesia namely, Marshalls, Pohnpei, Chuuk, Kosrae, CNMI, Guam, Kiribas, Yap, Nauru, and host country Palau that will participate and compete in the biggest sporting event.
Following the parade of flags the program continues with an invocation by Fr. John Paul Illilau and the National Anthem and flag raising of the Republic of Palau. Subsequently, the introduction of dignitaries and guests as well as welcoming remarks by Palau National Olympic Committee President Frank Kyota and Key remarks by His Excellency President Johnson Toribiong will be heard. After which, the Micronesian games flag raising, debusch and kirkir, torch entrance and lighting of the games torch will follow on that order. Lastly, once the athletes and officials have taken their oath the official opening and declaration of the games will be announced.
