Spread the court, defensive and offensive transition, stick to the game plan, these are some of the words Palau basketball athletes had seen and heard during their recently concluded hoops competition and these same exact words that they need to breathe and to live by at least for the next full week when they start their bid for the gold against teams from the Marshalls, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, CNMI, and Guam.
“I am so excited to see the rest of the team from the island and would like to have the game now,” says Logan Ngiriou – Assistant Coach of team Palau women. “We have been training so hard for this basketball challenge and now it is here and we can’t do anything anymore but to give the best performance and fight to the end, “said Jamie Ngirausui, a veteran player for the women’s team.
