Fred Pelisamen however, fought back with a reverse layup and blasted a free throw after a defensive foul.
Moments later, Cavite-Andhoks was on the way to securing a 98-91 win in the 2011 United Filipino Organization Basketball League-Budweiser Cup last Thursday.
Pelisamen shot another two-pointer to cap the last two minutes, marking Andhoks’ second win.
Double-digit scorer Tim Wesley rallied with 17 points, Jon Artates scored 12, and Joy Dayrit earned 14. Pando Muleta scored seven points in four minutes for an 11 total.
Winning wasn’t an easy task as Blue Haus controlled the first half, 51-44. A slow start from Artates left Andoks 11 points behind after a shooting spree from Alex Lauron and Dexter Tenorio.
Lauron earlier scored 17 of his 26 points in the first two periods along with eight from Zack Babauta and six from Ed Diaz.
Andoks dominated on a 26-14 run to lead, 70-65. Joy Dayrit secured two three-point field goals while Tim Wesley shot three baskets to make up for his scoreless first half.
Early in the fourth quarter, Zack Babauta sunk another pair of 3’s and Ziddy Johannes scored points on an open layup.
Stalling for time, Muleta kept possession to hold them off.
Andoks’ Mike Olaitiman also drew double-digits with 10 points. Olaitiman posted three steals, seven assists, and 10 rebounds. Wesley garnered two steals, one assist, two blocks, and 12 rebounds.
