Angeles, Elena rule September roll-off

Both bowlers clinched the titles last weekend, surpassing January’s queen of the lanes Yho Villavicencio and July winner Simon Manacop.

Angeles bested 15 players in the men’s division and drew his best score from game one at 239 pinfalls. Second ranked Manacop got off to a slow start with 148 but recovered in game two at 213 pinfalls.

Angeles completed his last three games with 181, 154, and 205 last Sunday and ended the two-day event with 707 pinfalls on Monday. His first score however, sufficed to hand him the lead. Angeles averaged 194.75 pins per game in day one and dropped to 176.75 in day two.

Manacop ended his third and fourth games with 178 and 222 to beat third place finisher Raphael Zapanta, who posted 736 pinfalls.

Raphael edged his father, Ruselle Zapanta by two pins with 177, 202, 186, and 171 in games one through four.

The men’s division lacked previous winner Robert Talavera, who took the August titles with Ron Cal.

Soll averaged 165.75 pinfalls to rule the women’s division. Villavicencio bagged 658 overall while Cal settled for third at 656.

Like Angeles, Soll reached her peak in game two at 199 pinfalls and capped off with 167 and 175.

None female bowler however, surpassed Gloria Omechelang’s game-high 220 pinfalls from Sunday.

Villavicencio scored 150, 178, 169, and 161 to average 164.5 per game and Cal had 157, 176, 165, and 158 to average 164.

So far, this year’s monthly winners include Omechelang, Villavicencio, Manacop, Diane Camacho, Joe Sto. Domingo, Jonathan Eparwa, and Raymond Zapanta.
