THE KLIQ continues to make a statement in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Open League as they recorded another blowout victory, this time against Saipal, 43-14, at the Dandan baseball field Sunday.
The Kliq opened the top of the first inning with its first two batters filling up the bases via base on ball. Josenio Alvarez then sent one out of the park, bringing the runners home with him for an early lead, 3-0. Two more runs came in before they were handed the first out. This was followed by a two-run homer by Thorn Sablan and three more runs to extend the deficit, 9-0.
In the bottom half, Saipan tried to match the Kliq’s momentum with several earned runs.
Second at bat Henry Aguon drew first blood with an RBI-double while KJ Kapileo connected a two-run homer. Saipal continued to load the bases with single after single while Joe Kapileo capitalized on a scoring opportunity with a grand slam.
