Archers win 2009 Miller Lite championship

With Alex Ocampo determining the offense scoring 10 of his 14 points in the first quarter, E&E was leading by eight points.

Rommel Usi blasted from behind the arc and added six more points from two-pointers for his 15 total points in the third, and Noel David chipped in six of his 11 points to stretch the lead.

Danny Bicera sizzled with eight of his 21 points while Ed Cosino fired nine including a three-pointer to help E&E close in during the fourth quarter.

The Archers put in a whole court defense to prevent E&E from tying the game then,  Usi poured in five more points and Edmark Mendoza added four points in the fourth quarter to hang-on to their lead and win the game, 67-62.

Fixers 68, DL Cooking Gas 60

The battle for third place also raged on with Diamond Fixers’ JR Barrios leading his team to 68-60 victory against DL Cooking Gas.

Firing three penalty shots, Barrios scored seven of his 23 points to set the lead in the first quarter.

Adonis Macoto, Jun Galsote and George De Guzman worked it out to help DL Cooking Gas keep close behind.

Ruel Cayanan fired two three-pointers and Barrios kept the outburst to stretch the lead in the third quarter.

Cayanan went ballistic again final period basketing two shots from behind the rainbow line to pull the Fixers away and claim the victory.
