ASAHI remains one of the top teams in the masters division of the 2025 Belau Amateur Softball League after putting on a home run clinic against Peliliu, winning 17-8 at the Dandan ballfield on Sunday.

Asahi entered the ballgame locked and loaded, scoring two runs in the first inning thanks to RBI singles by Paython Rdiall and Marino Hiroichi, setting the tone with a 2-0 lead.

Asahi added another run in the top of the second inning, but Peliliu’s Walter Macaranas responded with a three-run homer in the bottom half for the first deadlock of the game, 3-3.

The game intensified as the back-and-forth battle continued through the next innings.

In the top of the third, Asahi scored four runs, led by Dom Hideo’s RBI double and Taylor Germance’s two-RBI single. Peliliu responded with a two-run homer from Aling Ogumoro to stay within striking distance.

In the fifth inning, Asahi’s Byron Kaipat hit the team’s first home run, driving in two runs, while Peliliu managed just one run to trail 10-6.

After a scoreless sixth inning, Asahi gained a sudden boost of momentum in the seventh and final inning, showcasing their strength with several home runs.

Germance ignited Asahi’s late-game rally with a solo home run, sparking a powerful surge that included a two-run shot from Jack Cepeda and a three-run blast by Anson Jones — adding seven runs in total and restoring a comfortable lead.

Peliliu tried to rally but was held to just two runs before Asahi secured the final three outs to seal the 17-8 victory.

Winners, too

Joining the winner’s circle were Tokahao, which trounced Cholos Familia, 25-11 and Sufa, which outplayed Hagu Lamun, 17-8.
