Back-to-back wins for Fielders

A string of run-scoring singles in the bottom of the second was all the Fielders needed for their 11-4 victory at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Wednesday night.

Starting pitcher Shane Mendiola struck out 11 and gave up four runs on eight hits in eight and a half innings. Elton Santos, Reyes, John Manibusan each scored one RBI and Anthony Tenorio sealed the second inning with a two-run single. Mendiola and catcher Ben Flores finished off with one run apiece.

Masters’ Reno Celis had earlier driven Jess Mesa in with a double at the top of the fourth. Jason Reyes scored their final run on an error.

Even with a scoreless seventh and eighth inning, the Fielders needed only a sturdy defense to stay alive.

Fielders 7, Brewers 5

A solid offense from Anthony Tenorio helped the Fielders outlast Tan Holdings Brewers, 7-5 on Tuesday.

Tenorio went 4-for-5 with one run and Ionis Rasa and John Reyes added two runs apiece. Ben Flores hit a sacrifice fly to send Rasa home in the top of the fifth. Shane Mendiola delivered a two-run single four innings later. Elton Santos tallied seven strikeouts and walked two in nine innings.

The Brewers posted four runs on errors before losing momentum. Manny Sablan advanced on a base on ball and eked out their final run in the bottom of the ninth.
