First game between PHS- A and MHS- B displayed the Lady Spiders team A who kept pounding on their competitors, MHS – Lady Cardinals, leaving no space for retaliation as they won in just two sets with a score of 25 – 23 and 25 – 11 on the best of three matches. In fairness to the Cardinals, they put up a gallant fight in the first set giving the public school a hard fought game. But it was a different story at the second set wherein the Spiders shooed off their “first game jitters” and showed their strength and accuracy through the great passes and timed kills from the combination of setter Sweety Kalbesang and power hitter Elilai, thus leaving no chances for their antagonist to come back. Then on the second game between MHS A and PMA, team number one for the Cardinals had a hard time getting a win against the furious PMA Crusaders. However, with proper communication among its players Cardinals team A was able to pull a win on the third outing with score of the sets as 25 – 21, 20 – 25, and 25 – 20. Then on Wednesday, the Modekngei students were not able to make it at Koror having the game between them and MHS postponed, while PHS – B swept PMA in two sets, 25 – 20 and 25 – 21 in the second game.
As for the boy’s matches, Spiders dominated the match between them and Mindszenty Cardinals, 25 – 17 and 25 – 19 to stay on top.The 2009 ISL Volleyball Tournament is a Tobacco and Alcohol free games and such are not allowed at the venue of the sport. In addition, fighting among the players involved will result in expulsion from the tournament.
