The Fixers tightened their defense to protect their lead in the final quarter.
But George De Guzman duplicating Barrios’ surge, Cooking Gas managed to cut the lead in the final few minutes of the game.
Barrios paced the Fixers offense and although many of his attempts turned unsuccessful he made it up with five of the free-throws he was rewarded from Cooking Gas defenders’ fouls.
Earlier in the first quarter, Manolo Manalo led the scoring hands with eight markers including his two free-throws.
Barrios picked up where Manalo left off firing nine points including the three-pointer.
Jon Arates added 10 points and helped secured their win.
E&E 78, Mekeni Abe Archers 66
Dennis Morales rampaged with 11 points in the fourth quarter and led E&E to beat Mekeni Abe Archers, 78-66.
With Rommel Quinitip investing in two-pointers, the Archers enjoyed a seven-point advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Alex Ocampo topped the scoring hands in the second quarter with six points and E&E took over the lead.
Ed Cosino sizzled with eight points in the third quarter while Ocampo and R. Barcinas backed him up with six points each to stretch the lead.
Then Morales launched the rally in the fourth quarter leading to their victory.
San Roque 99, Tropical Laundry 78
In a make up game, Gil Gapor and Arnold Capuli established the strong lead midway to the ball game and handed San Roque its 99-78 victory over Tropical Laundry.
Ryan Odicta and Angelo Fernando who took it easy earlier in the game unleashed their rage in the fourth quarter firing eight and seven points respectively to secure San Roque’s win.
Capuli registered eight points in the first quarter and blasted from behind arc in the second. Then, he helped tighten the defense handing the torch to Gapor and McLain Achas in the third quarter.
Ron Delos Reyes scattered 42 points in an attempt to bounce back.
