The community, along with the competitors, is asked to please arrive promptly to the venue that the opening ceremony may start on time as not to interrupt the schedule for the night.
Last year the league had 21 teams competing, with team Natibu clinching the championships. Last year’s competition was strictly for men. This year it’s going to be different. There will be a women’s division as well.
After the opening ceremony the inaugural games will follow shortly thereafter at the Capitol Hill Softball Field. The 15 teams that have confirmed their entrance in the league are: last season’s defending champions, team Natibu, the first place runner up, Man Amigos, Berdax, G-Ballers, PHAT Boyz, Saltyz, Gorillaz, V-Power, Braddahs, X-clusive, Ur-Balls, Calikano-Groupers, LauLau Bay Resort, Red Eye, and Team Familia. 5 teams have also confirmed their entrance in the women’s division.
The games will be scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with three games per night with the first game starting at 6:30 pm, the second game at 7:30 pm, and the last game of the night at 8:30 pm.
The Women’s division will play Monday night and Friday night at the second game or the 7:30 pm slot. All the other slots will be the men’s division including all games on Wednesday.
The league will follow a Round Robin Format. A round-robin tournament gives every team the chance to play every other team in the tournament at least once. This normally works best in a four- or six-team format.
In a round robin, teams will usually play at least two games per day and once each team has faced every other teams, the two teams that compiled the best records will earn a spot in the final. If two teams finish tied for second, the tiebreaker is how they did in their head-to-head meeting, with the winner of that game advancing to the final.
