Sabbah Delong, Jessie Sumor, Jonathan Kamisky, Scott Walsh, Peter Magbanua, and the first certified Women’s Basketball Coach in Palau, Happy Fritz, were presented certificates by the Palau Basketball Federation Vice President Kazuki “Topps” Sungino and seminar instructor, basketball guru of Micronesia Stuart Manwaring.
The coaching seminar covered all the basic fundamentals of individual and team skills as well as basic team offense and defense where participants had three weekends at the basketball courts discussing insights of effective sensible techniques of running both offense and defense.
In addition to learning practical skills, they were also had the chance to spend a couple of Saturday s at the Resource Center building for local government high school to talk about various teaching methods for basketball players.
The coaching seminar is part of the Palau Basketball Federation’s National Development Program in line with its pursuit to upgrade the levels of coaching skills all over the island resulting to much better quality competition among leagues.
