Dikito, Damian, Hayes homer to lead Saipal over G-Ballers

Since their second lost to Freedom Air Flyers two weeks ago, the Saipal sluggers hanged on to this season’s top five with two straight wins.

Leo Bobai struck out two and the Saipal fielders held the G-Ballers scoreless in three straight innings.

Cliffton Siliil started the bottom of the first inning with a single and Hector Efraim went one base behind him following Lefty Shiro’s out in the third, then, Dikito’s homerun cleared the bases for Saipal’s strong lead.

Both teams had tightened defense in the next two innings, but not until Siliil knocked-in a two run double in the bottom of the second inning.

G-Ballers’ Leonardo Salalila blasted a three-run home run  to cut Saipal’s lead down to two runs.

However, Jayson Hayes brought the lead back with his two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning and Saipal defended the field keeping the G-Ballers scoreless in the top of the sixth inning.

Dikito and Leo Bobai singled before Damian sent the to the home plate with a three-run home run and the remaining batters delivered two more runs to secure their seventh victory.

Meanwhile, weather seemed to have decided to hold back the softball fans’ excitement about the two undefeated teams when rains prevented the next two games from moving head.

The Island Rebels and Natibu would have clashed for the first time but the down pour that also stalled the game between Berdax and Team Familia went on to batter the ball field.
