DOLORES Yamagishi topped the CNMI Women’s Golf Association’s August tournament with a net score of 71 at the Coral Ocean Resort golf course on Saturday.
Yamagishi and five other golfers had to contend with the heat, but they remained laser-focused on each hole.
Yamagishi kept a cool head and cleared the front nine with a gross of 46. She nearly mirrored her performance on the back nine with a gross of 47 and a combined gross score of 93. Her 22 handicap moved her to the front of the line with a net score of 71.
Coming in second was Hyun Son Sunny who shot a gross of 46 on the front and 39 on the back for a gross total of 85. Her 12 handicap gave her a net score of 73.
In third place was Janet Torres who shot a gross of 42 and 49 for a total of 91. Thanks to a handicap of 18, she made it to the top 3 list with a net score of 73, but Sunny had the better tiebreak score.
