Eagles sweep Knights in varsity volleyball

With extra effort, the Eagles quickly soared to a 14-5 lead during their first set against the Knights. The Knights had difficulty returning the ball to the Eagles early in the game.

Brandon Chargualaf ruled the court with his sharp overhand serves, earning several more points for the Eagles. The Eagles finished their first set after dominating the Knights by 25-14.

A similar outcome resulted from the Eagles’ second set, where they won by 25-15. They fed the Knights with several more overhand serves, this time coming from Dae Min Jeon. The Knights later gained control of the ball after an out of bound serve. The Eagles continued their control of the court as middle hitter Angelo Salas helped his team with several sets and spikes.

After a final underhand pass from Genesis Manglona, the Eagles now boast an undefeated 7-0 record.

Prior to their varsity match, the Coalition of Private Schools Sports Association also had a scheduled volleyball match between MCS and GCA’s junior varsity players.

The junior varsity Knights improved their 4 win – 6 loss record yesterday after dealing a final 15-10 blow to the Eagles during their third set. Reaching a deadlock at the first set’s game point, the Eagles drew first blood after defeating their opponents by 26-28. With authority, the Knights easily pounded the Eagles by 25-17 during the second set.
