Ed Manibusan
ED Manibusan claimed the October Ace of the Month title of the Saipan Golf Association at the west course of Laolao Bay Golf & Resort on Oct. 27, 2024.
On the front nine, the CNMI’s attorney general shot well as he ended with a gross of 43. On the back nine, however, he struggled to maintain his swing as he closed with a gross of 48 for a gross total of 91.
With a handicap of 9, his net score was 82, which put him in fourth place overall.
However, the top three players have already triumphed in previous ace tournaments this year, which paved the way for Manibusan to emerge as the October ace.
In first place was Rick Kautz, who shot a gross total of 90 which, with a handicap of 11, gave him a net score of 79.
In second place was Alex Tudela with a net score of 80 followed by Patrick Cepeda with a net score of 81.
In the optional play, the closest to the pin winners were Rick Kautz for hole #3, Ed Manibusan for hole #7, and Patrick Cepeda for hole #13.
For the longest drive, Alex Tudela made the list for hole #2 while Rick Kautz claimed hole #18.
Besides Manibusan, the 2024 Ace of the Month winners so far are Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Alex Tudela (February), Nick Sablan (March), Das Krishnan (April), Joe I. Sablan (May), Freddie Cataluna (June), Jung Eun Teack (July), Patrick Cepeda (August) and Rene Batallones (September).
The 2024 November Ace of the Month Tournament will be held on Nov. 17, Sunday, at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s east course. Show time is 8:30 a.m. while tee time is 9 a.m.
