Enamo Meta trumps Proa for semis seat

Just two days after ending T&C Clan in the losers’ bracket, Enamo Meta thrived on a three-run fourth inning to secure the rest of the match.

Pitcher Jovie Omar went 2-for-3 with one single and one run while Lou Lieto went 1-for-3 with one run.

Behind, 5-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Linda Cabrera bagged Proa’s first run on an error.

Earlier in the game, Enamo’s Lisa Pangelinan drove Mel Camacho in with an RBI triple. Pangelinan reached home plate via fielder’s choice and Camacho delivered a two-run triple two innings later.

Proa’s Edwina Baulechong nearly scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, but Felisa Brel struck a fly ball for their third out.

Enamo Meta faced Check It Out yesterday, but results weren’t available during press time.

Players from the top-seeded Sakudi now wait for their championship game next Friday, June 24.

Natibu 16, Ur Balls 14

Meanwhile, JR Suel went 3-for-4 with three homers to lift Natibu, 16-14 past Ur Balls in the men’s semifinals.

Natibu now has a chance to redeem itself after falling to the Man Amigos in the winners’ bracket’s semis last Monday. They drew two home runs from Suel and Jerome Delos Santos in the top of the first to lead, 4-0.

Ur Balls replied with Giovanni Ayuyu’s two-run homer, but it wasn’t enough to tie the game.

Natibu made up for its scoreless second inning on Suel’s two three-run homers, boosting the team to 13 runs in the top of the fifth. Delos Santos hit his second of two home runs soon after.

Audie Maratita earned his third RBI on a two-run triple as Ur Balls stayed alive in the bottom of the frame.

Natibu finished off with two singles from Jonathan Wilson and Ken Kalen and Nokki Saralu’s three-run home run.

The Natibu and Man Amigos’ rematch next Friday will be for the men’s championship.
