Former MP United coach Katie Peters will visit the island with seven members of the Faith Baptist Bible College to host a soccer camp for participants five to 15 years old.
Peters will be joined by FBBC’s Paul Speed, Sara Worman, Rachel Worman, Laura Fowler, and Kimmy Terlouw and coaches Mark Stupka and Lance Augsburger during the two-week event.
Sessions are scheduled for July 5-8 and July 11-15. Kindergarten students and players in the first and second grade are scheduled for 8 to 9 a.m. Those in grades 3-5 are set for 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders join in at 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
“We will do a variety of drills, activities, and games centered around four major themes: dribbling, passing, shooting, and possession,” said Peters in an email to Marianas Variety. “There will also be time for scrimmaging to apply all of these skills.”
The venue has not yet been confirmed by the Northern Marians Islands Football Association.
“We are eager to help these young soccer players increase their soccer skills. We also want to provide an opportunity for them to have fun playing soccer while learning some valuable truths,” Peters added.
This will be her first time to host a summer camp. She coached MP United’s boys 14-and-under squads in 2009 and 2010 before leaving to FBBC in Ankeny, Iowa.
The group will arrive on July 4.
Anyone seeking for pre-registration may contact Peters at [email protected] and include the following information: child’s name, age and grade, and contact number.
