21 boats came early morning of the Saturday weekend at the Riptide Bar and Grill at Malakal to compete in reeling the heaviest fish at the different category. However as the time ticks to the last hour of the competition, it was Francis and group who grabbed a hold of a 43 pound Skipjack and a 38 pound Barracuda to win first on both categories.
Other winners for the category of Wahoo / Mahi / Barracuda are team Phil Kelm who took number two with his 30lb pound catch followed by Allan Takada and company who was able to find a 26lb to get third place. For the Jack and Trevallies, it was team George Rechucher who came second with their 30lb catch. Brian Melairei and his sidekicks docked their boat and weighed in a 29 lb yellowfish tuna to win the Tuna category.
