FRED Salavaria bested Alfred Aldan Jr. in a tiebreaker via a score card playoff to bag the Amigos Golf Club’s July Ace of the Month title at the west course of Laolao Bay Golf & Resort on Sunday.

Salavaria played well throughout the two-day tournament.

In the qualifying round on July 7, Salavaria shot a gross of 78. With a handicap of eight, his net score was 70. In the ace round, which was played two weeks after, Salavaria maintained his swing as he mirrored his initial performance with a gross of 78, which gave him net score of 70 and a two-day net total of 140.

Salavaria did not claim the title without a fight, however, as Alfred Aldan Jr. garnered the same net total, 140.

In the tiebreaker, which was based on a scorecard playoff, hole #10 was the deciding factor. On hole #10, Aldan incurred a double bogey while Salavaria had a par, which gave him the title.

In the optional play, Domingo Atalig led the par 3 list on hole #4. Dung Tenorio clinched hole #6; Jay Muna triumphed on hole #11; and Syl Ada ruled on hole #15. Each of them was awarded $130.
