Gino and Perry made it to the finals after defeating their respective opponents in the best–of-three tournament where 16 players skirmished at the hotel’s pool side, starting 9:30 a.m.
Emerging from the second round, Gino, Miyako’s Dinoy, Perry and FO’s Anthony faced off in the semi finals.
Gino defeated Anthony, 2-0 while Perry beat Dinoy, 2-0.
The title match then, took place with Gino putting Perry down to his knees, 11-7, 8-11, 11-5.
Every year, Hyatt Regency celebrates in June to show appreciation to its employees. This year’s event was held from June 21 to 23.
Besides ping pong match, the other sports activities in the annual event were tangan-tangan baseball, obstacle course, kayak race, dodge ball and beach aerobics. Arts and crafts exhibition and “Desperate Housewife Cooking” also gave Hyatt staff another made exciting celebration.
The pingpong match weas organized by Laundy supervisor, Budhi Gurung who is also the coordinator from Marianas Amateur Table Tennis Association.
Although there were 30 players who showed last year, 16 participants for this year are still good turn out, he said.
