Ogumoro lifts Bud Lime past O’ Douls in Budweiser caging

The one-point game came up after O’ Doul’s team captain Leeroy Rangamar’s three-pointer in the last 24 seconds went unprotected.

The game was tied, 69-69, when Rangamar blasted from behind the three-point line. But their defense went somewhere that allowed Clayton Kenty to charge the basket and picked up a foul.

Clayton cut the lead by making his second free throw, and the O’ Doul’s fumbled giving the Bud Lime the remaining 10 seconds. Ogumoro stood open at the center, charged the basket and got fouled.

He tied the ball game, 72-72 by hitting his two free throws.

Rangamar got the winning shot in his hands but was fouled with 5 seconds left. He missed one of the free throws and gave the Bud Lime Ol’ Aces the remaining five seconds to reach their court.

Ogumoro got the ball again, jumped for lay up and made it.

Two seconds for the O’ Douls, Syl Teregeyo was the only receiver and the buzzer came before he released the ball that fell short of hitting the goal.

The Aces acquired a momentary lead in the first quarter with 16-13 but was topped by the Rebels shortly into the second quarter. The bars were raised afterwards when the Aces caught up and were able to establish their dominance in the third and fourth quarter.

Remaining steady in the game, Rabauliman led through the individual scores with a total of 25 points. He was followed by Ivan De Vero from the Rebels, with a total of 16 points.

Unlike Rabauliman, Vero was not able to play throughout the match, and was replaced in the fourth quarter.

The game brought another exciting night and a heightened prospect for the Budweiser Basketball League.
