Hyatt avenges loss as Inter-government & Business league resumes

Dave Sablan who took his time on the bench during the first quarter helped Hyatt erase Tinian’s five-point lead with two penalty shots followed by a converted three-point play in the middle of the second quarter.

Ringo Reyes led Tinian’s surge in the first quarter scoring six of his total points and Tony Borja added four.

Both teams seemed to have eased defense that filled the second quarter with a lot actions as Tinian’s JR Reyes engaged in a showdown with Hyatt’s Sablan.

Reyes fired eight points including a three-pointer, while Sablan sizzled with nine points in the enduring second period that ended on Hyatt’s favor with one point lead.

Tony Borja easily wiped this gap with two straight three-point shots before Kerry Borja pulled Tinian away with another three-pointer in the third quarter.

Tinian put up a full-court defense and Borja bombarded Hyatt again with two three-pointers for a four-point advantage at the end of the third period.

Leo Pascua and Kerry Borja added 15 and 14 points respectively.

Bernard Aquino continued his surge as he backed Sablan up to rally in the final quarter.

After Borja bombed them again with rainbow shot two minutes to the ball game, Hyatt finally put clamps on Tinian’s offense paving the way for Sablan and Aquino to complete the fast breaks.

Chriz Arreza who was dormant in the first half and third quarter joined the rampage scoring the crucial four points that helped Hyatt regain the top spot.

 

CPA 89, CHC 57

Jeff Cloud scattered 27 points in the court and Kirk Schuler added 18 points as they led Commonwealth Ports Authority beat Commonwealth Health Center on Friday.

Schuler set the lead in the      beginning of the first quarter with a two-pointer and two penalty shots.

However, Tom Diaz and Edgar Pangelinan pounded CPA with three-pointers to take the lead. Diaz fired three times from behind the arc.

CPA clamped down on CHC’s offense nailing them to 25 points as Chris Camacho and Edward Diaz unleashed the rage with six points apiece in the second quarter.

With Cloud coming back into action, CPA continued to rally and routed CHC towards the end of the final quarter.
