Scoreless in the top of the first inning, the Island Rebels bounced back a bit but fell behind again after two complete innings.
BJ Babauta led off a single in the third before Celis hit a two-run home run to zoom the Island Rebels past San Roque and Oscar Sablan made it safer by adding an RBI single.
San Roque’s four fly balls landed in the hands of defenders and they went scoreless in the next three innings giving the Island Rebels a wider chance to take the lead which, they did.
Celis fired his second HR—a solo home run in the fifth inning before Mitch Aaron and Jeff Isaac were thrown out on fly balls.
Craig Sanchez singled in the top of the sixth Oscar Sablan then, Oscar Sablan rocketed a two-run home run to widen the gap.
BJ Babauta doubled for his third base hits of the game and Mitch Aaron drove him in with a single to secure their 10-4 victory.
The Island Rebels had their second loss when 6-Pack rallied in the top of fifth inning last Friday and pounded them with run-scoring singles.
Despite Aaron’s three-run home run and Oscar Sablan two-run home run in the bottom of the third, the Island Rebels did not close in and allowed 6-Pack to celebrate their seventh victory.
Advance Xterminators 15, Berdax 9
The Advance Xterminators rallied in the top of the fourth inning and beat Berdax, 15-9 for their sixth straight win.
After Asap Ogumoro’s three-run homerun and Jess Tenorio’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning for Berdax, the Xterminators suffered a four-run deficit after three complete innings.
Then, Dennis Ngeskebei singled, JJ Cabrera moved him to the second base on a walk before Poland Masaharu sent him home with a single. John Taitano drove Cabrera in with a sacrifice fly and Ron Benavente hit an RBI single.
Angel Reyes and Bob Castro scored run on stolen base and fielder’s choice respectively and the Xterminators were back on their feet.
After Benavente led off a single in the top of the sixth inning, Reyes and Manny Cabrera rocketed a two-run home run apiece to pull away.
Benavente caught two fly balls to help the Xterminators keep Berdax scoresless in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Masaharu who relieved Cabrera on the mound helped tightened the defense in the bottom of the seventh by striking out two, allowing only Shine Tenorio to hit a two-run home run and the Xterminators protected their lead to win the ball game.
Chura 12, UR Balls 8
George David, Jess Iguel and Fred Sato blasted run-scoring home runs to power Chura over the UR Balls, 12-8.
The two teams exchanged stiff defense to keep the second inning scoreless.
David however, widened the gap in the top of the third inning with his three-run home run. With Giovanni Ayuyu hitting a run-scoring double and Oliver Secharmidal, an RBI single, UR Balls tied the ball game in the bottom of the third.
Mel Sakisat had a two RBI single cushion to set a three-run cushion in the top of the fourth and Chura did not trail.
Iguel’s two-run home run and Sato’s solo shot stretched the lead.
Berdax posted their second win during Friday’s game as they defeated Red Eye, 21-8. With Franco Flores leading off a single, Berdax pounded Red Eye with six base hits in the top of the first inning.
Ogumoro hit a solo home run in the second inning while Frank Roberts, Ben Camacho and Paul Camacho hit an RBI single apiece and Berdez never looked back to beat Red Eye.
