Over six months later, SGA returned to the golfing scene to hold the March ace tournament, which Nick Sablan won.
Jung won his title on Feb. 9 at the Kingfisher Golf Links. Ed Manibusan was in the lead, but he had already claimed an ace title, which meant that the real battle was for second place.
Manibusan had a strong performance with a gross score of 40 in the front nine, which he improved during the back nine by scoring a gross of 36. With a combined gross of 76 and a handicap of 7, Manibusan led the pack with a net score of 69.
Jung, for his part, played evenly as he completed the front nine with a score of 44 and increased his odds in the back nine with a gross of 40 for a total of 84. Aided by a handicap of 12, he scored a net total of 72 to bag second place and the February Ace of the Month title.
Coming in at third place was Manny Alvarez who shot a gross of 45 and 40 for a total of 85. Propped up by a handicap of 12, he settled for third place with a net of 73.
Also in the spotlight were Das Krishnan and Frances Sablan who made the Longest Drive at hole #2 and hole #11.
The Closest to the Pin Award went to Alvarez for holes #6, #12 and #17 while Juan Pan Guerrero won the award for hole #8.
When SGA resumed the tournaments in August, Sablan was the man to beat as he was unmatched throughout the course, scoring a gross of 36 in the front nine and 35 in the back nine for a total of 71. With a handicap of 6, he secured the top spot with a net score of 65 to claim the March Ace title.
Three players finished with a net score of 70: Tony Deleon Guerrero, Larry Deleon Guerrero, and Krishnan.
Sablan was also the lone winner of the Longest Drive Award at holes #3 and #18 while the Closest to the Pin Award went to Manibusan at hole #6, Juan Pan Guerrero at hole #11 and Alex Tudela at hole #15.
The SGA April Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 6, 2020 at the Kingfisher Golf Links. Show time is set for 8:30 a.m. and tee time for 9 a.m.
The members present on Aug. 23, 2020 decided that the remaining Ace of the Month tournaments would be played twice a month until they have caught up with the current month.
