JUNG Eun Teack clinched the Saipan Golf Association’s July Ace of the Month title with a net score of 70 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course on July 28, 2024.
Teack’s experience was his biggest asset as his tee offs and placements led to soft touches on the green.
He completed the first nine holes with a gross of 44 while improving his odds on the back nine with a gross of 42 for a total gross score of 86. Sporting a handicap of 16, Teack secured his seat at the top with a net score of 70.
Nick Sablan shot a gross of 36 and 41 for a total gross score of 77. With a handicap of 7, his net score was also 70. However, Sablan had already won an Ace of the Month tournament back in March.
Coming in third was Freddie Cataluna, who shot a gross of 36 and 38 for a total gross score of 74. With a handicap of 3, his net score was 71.
Besides Jung and Sablan, the 2024 SGA Ace of the Month winners so far are Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Alex Tudela (February), Das Krishnan (April), Joe I. Sablan (May), and Freddie Cataluna (June).
In the optional play, the winners for the Closest to the Pin were Teack for hole #4; Nick Sablan, hole #6; Rick Kautz, hole #11; and Joe Sablan, hole #15.
Freddie Cataluna, for his part, had the longest drive on holes #3 and #18.
