Kabriel, Oshima-Berger top 10K Fun Run

The 10K began at Micro Beach with the trail heading towards the old Hakubotan building and back.

The formality of the event was a two (2) person team race in which both teammates finishing time was added and the lowest time was the top finisher.

Ketson “Jack” Kabiriel and teammate Mamiko Oshima-Berger finished the grueling race in less than an hour with Kabiriel clocking in at 42 minutes and 21 seconds followed by teammate Berger who timed in at 44 minutes and 12 seconds. Together the duo’s score was combined for a total of 1:26:33.

Following team Sick came team Marpi which was composed of partners Ronal Villafria who finished the race in 46 minutes and 9 seconds and Steve Pixley who tailed Villafria at 46 minutes and 47 seconds.

After team Marpi came team 2 Old Men. This unit was composed of runners Tom Linden who came in a little after Kabiriel at 42 minutes and 56 seconds and teammate Paul Viator who finished the race at 51 minutes and 47 seconds.

In fourth place came team Suko Nako who filled in the seat snuggly after runners Gary Bandoja clocked in at 45 minutes and 44 seconds followed by teammate Nhap Dizon who came in after 50 minutes and 26 seconds.

And last but not least to clean the top finishers’ list off the market came team Banzai Runners. This team was made of the Camacho-Nishikido tandem. Tamio Nishikido finished the race in 44 minutes and 57 seconds whilst teammate Fred Camacho completed the race in 51 minutes and 51 seconds.

Four other teams joined the race. They are: Survivors Irma Halaby and Joshua Berger, The Fat and Furious Brad Ruszala and Danny Bai, team Young and Restless Joel Tudela and Ben Babauta, and Team Champion’s Chang Wan Jang and Chad Lowe.

It was an Open Division and there were prizes up for grabs for the top five finishers of the race. Among the prizes up for grabs were cell phones from Docomo Pacific, a one month membership from Gold’s Gym, gift certificates and/or tickets to the upcoming Trench Tech event, brunch passes at the Saipan Grand Hotel, and many more.
