If competition continues tomorrow, William S. Reyes, Dan Dan Elementary School, Tanapag Elementary School, and San Antonio Elementary School will compete in the 100m, 200m, and 1500m events along with the long jump competition.
On Thursday, junior high school and high school students will compete to claim seats in the championship round.
Among the contesting schools are Hopwood Junior High School, Cha Cha Oceanview High School, Marianas Baptist Academy, Saipan International School, Saipan Community School, Whispering Palms, Marianas High School, Saipan Southern High School, and Kagman High School.
Last week, Jamin Elliot from Whispering Palms School topped the male 8 years and under 400m run after clocking in at 1:27:93 while JinJu Thompson crushed her other opponents after finishing strong with 1:46:97 in the female division.
For the 10-and-under division Logan Mister shined after defeating schoolmates Erik Kim and Cole Chambers in 1:27:93 while Joshalyn Flores’ time of 1:24:59 was the fastest in the female division.
In the 12-and-under division Elnathan Wong crossed the finish line with the best time of 1:18:08 while Manzanita Moore refused to be left behind and she too pushed strong towards the finish line, finishing first in 1:24:65
During the last event of the day, John Auther of Whispering Palm’s posted the fastest time for the 3000m run in 13:16:37. Meanwhile, Tammy Ackerman was the lone female finisher after Suah Cho sprained her ankle. Ackerman finished the grueling race in 13:59:50.
