VISITING Korean golfer Sang Hun Lee topped the double peoria game of the 2024 Hyulim-Lao Invitational Golf Tournament at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort’s east course on Saturday.
Lee shot 106 strokes to complete the 18 holes, with at-par shots on holes 12 and 17, but garnered the most handicap points to finish with a net total 71.20 and win the double peoria game. Lee also topped the championship round.
In the double peoria game, local golfers Anthony Benavente and Anthony Tomokane came in second and third, respectively, with net scores of of 71.60 and 72.20.
Kwang-hee Choi shot a 2-under-par 70 to dominate the low gross competition among male golfers. He made three birdies and came within one shot of a hole-in-one on Hole No. 6. Choi finished with 14 pars and just one bogey on Hole No. 13.
Mi-kyeong Ko topped the ladies flight with a gross of 91. She shot two at-pars on the front nine and two at-pars on the back nine.
Local golfer Franco Santos pocketed four birdies to win the Most Birdies Award while Jong-gap Park hit 15 at-par shots to bring home the Most Pars Award.
Seung-ick Lee came within 55 centimeters of the hole on No. 16 to win the Accurate Driver Award.
Tony Satur came within five feet, five inches on Hole 4 to win the Closest To The Pin Award; Seung-ki Hon, within two feet, three inches on Hole 6; Amier Younis, within 10.1 inches on Hole 11; and Calvin Yamagishi, within two feet, 10 inches on Hole 15.
Marco Peter launched a 308-yard drive to win the Men’s Long Drive Award, while Jung-eun Park’s 250-yard drive topped the ladies’ competition.
Yun-ho Na received the award for Most Bogeys with a total of 15 excess shots’ Hyun-seob Ko had the Most Lost Balls with a total of 11; and Bo-guen Choi earned the Most Double Pars Award.
