HBR ended the regular season of the E-Sports CNMI Invitational Basketball League 2025 on a strong note, defeating Jacob’s 64-55 at the Gualo Rai Basketball Court on Saturday.

Despite the strong finish, HBR struggled early, as Jacob’s controlled the first half. The team showcased its range with Rjhay Singca, Renren Gaviola, and Andrew Sy each hitting a three-pointer to gain an early lead. HBR countered with Sean Licayan scoring nine straight points, supported by Jeff Yugummang, Arfin Chua, and Jomer Lazatin from within the perimeter.

Jacob’s added depth off the bench with Jay Panes, Vinz Rodriguez, and DJ Fernando, maintaining enough efficiency to lead 34-29 at halftime.

HBR came out in the second half with intensity, led by JR Galang and Licayan, who scored five and six points respectively, to take the lead. Jacob’s attempted a comeback behind Alex Ocampo, Sy, and Singca, but their efforts were undone by HBR’s relentless offense. Chua, Galang, and Yugummang finished strong, securing the upset victory, 64-55.
