
SIMON Tang secured a historic milestone for Team NMI, capturing the delegation’s first gold medal at the 2026 Oceania Athletics Championships. Competing in the Men’s 110m Hurdles Under 20 event, the 19-year-old clocked a blistering 15.02 (+2.1 m/s) to claim the top spot on the podium. Tang dominated the race, finishing more than a full second ahead of his closest competitor, Tonga’s Eric Tuiono, who took silver in 16.16.
