WITH a net score of 72, Mariano Fajardo was named the Saipan Golf Association October Ace of the Month on Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
Fajardo finished fourth overall, but the top three had already won previous ace tournaments.
After completing the front nine with a gross of 45, he struggled on the back nine and ended with a gross of 50 for a gross total of 95. However, his 23 handicap gave him a total net score of 72.
It was Larry Deleon Guerrero, the July Ace, who took the top spot with a gross of 45 on the front nine and 43 on the back for a gross total of 88. With a handicap of 20, his net score was 68.
Coming in second was Tony S. Reyes, the June Ace, who shot a gross of 46 on the front and 45 on the back for a total gross score of 91. With a handicap of 20 his net score was 71.
In third place was the September Ace, Ed Manibusan, who shot a gross of 39 on the front nine and 41 on the back for a gross total of 80, which, thanks to his eight handicap, gave him a net score of 72.
In the optional play for Closest to the Pin, Joe I. Sablan bagged holes #4 and #6 while Tony Deleon Guerrero notched hole #15.
For the Longest Drive, Das Krishnan took hole #3 while Rick Kautz reigned on hole #16.
So far, the other SGA 2023 Aces of the Month are Ray S. Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick C. Sablan (May), and Edward C. Sablan (August).
The SGA 2023 November Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 12, 2023 at Laolao East Course. Show time is 8:30 a.m. and tee time is 9 a.m.
