Paire 1’s Kathy Ruszala and Shirley’s Marilou Arriola chase after the ball during an intermediate division game of the Dove Women’s League Fall 2023 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Sunday.

PAIRE Football Clubs 1 and 2 defeated their respective adversaries on Sunday in the intermediate division (Flores-PeéLuwal) of the Dove Women’s League Fall 2023 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Paire Football Club 1 bested Shirley’s Football Club with finesse, 5-0.

PFC 1’s constant pressure on both ends of the field quickly overwhelmed SFC. PFC 1 scored their first goal within the first five minutes of the game courtesy of Heather Brook.

SFC adjusted their defensive coverage for nearly the rest of the opening half, but their walls eventually crumbled, allowing Terra Allen to find the back of the net at the 27th minute mark and extend PFC’s gap, 2-0.

The halftime break  refueled PFC 1 whose players returned to the second half more aggressive than ever.

As soon as they resumed play, PFC 1 caught SFC off guard with Allen scoring her second goal of the match. Lindsay Davis then took over the offensive highlight with back-to-back goals en route to victory, 5-0.

PFC 2 vs Kanoa

Paire Football Club 2, for their part, silenced Kanoa Football Club, 4-0.

This time, all four goals were scored in the first half.

Magumi West acted as the sparkplug by delivering the first goal at the 4th minute mark while Shawna Brenfleck scored two minutes after. Pamela Walsh kept the fuel burning with their team’s third goal followed by West’s second goal before the halftime ended.

KNFC defended better in the second half, but they remained scoreless and had to accept defeat at the hands of PFC 2, 0-4.

Also joining the winner’s circle were MP United Football Club 2, which beat their sister team MP United Football Club 1, 2-1; and Matansa Football Club, which outlasted Latte Football Club, 1-0.
