MBFNMI is encouraging basketball enthusiasts 35 years old and older to join the Masters league initially scheduled for March.
Players will be drafted in teams based on skill levels. The MBFNMI will create a pool of players to be drawn in teams. This is to promote a fair and equitable level of competition.
Those who have already formed into teams can still register individually. If coaches and managers wish to maintain their teams, they may do so but they still have to pick from pools of players in different skill levels.
Aside from the Saturday registration, interested coaches and players can still sign up with the following persons and locations:
Joe Mettao, Gilbert C. Ada Gym; Rufino Aguon, Northern Marianas College Gym; Ray Lizama, Kagman; Joe Pangelinan, OPM, Garapan; Scott Norman Calvary Christian Academy. Please bring your ID.
Last day of registration is Feb. 28.
Meanwhile, more sponsors are coming out to support the Masters basketball. Aside from Island Apparel and Fotten Gaga, there is another group who wants to sponsor the league.
The Island Apparel has donated the federation, brand new T-shirts, and printed on it is the MBFNMI’s official logo designed by Dexter Mendiola.
Those who wish to have their own Masters basketball T-Shirt may contact Mendiola at 287-3582, or Marketing Officer, Yasuhito Irinaka at 288-3441.
The MBFNMI is holding a meeting tomorrow at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym conference room at 5:30 p.m. Those who wish to hear more about the Masters basketball are welcome to attend.
