MHS beats MCS in boys fastpitch softball

THE Marianas High School Dolphins outlasted the Mount Carmel School Knights, 13-11, in the Public School System’s Boys Fastpitch Softball Tournament at the Dandan ballfield on Saturday.

The Dolphins stormed to a 7-3 lead in the first inning with first baseman Thomas Chong hitting a two-run double, while the rest of the squad drew walks against the MCS pitcher.

For the Knights, shortstop Eloy fired a one-run single and Mykee drove in two runs on a walk in the bottom of the first.

The Knights rallied in the third inning with right fielder PJ driving two runs with a single, and first baseman Jake firing a double while second baseman Min Soo and catcher Brendan each delivered a single.

However, with designated hitter Jason hitting a single, and third baseman Herbit, catcher Ramon and Joaquin scoring runs on walks, the Dolphins stretched their lead in the top of the fourth.

MCS’s Jake blasted a one-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning in an attempt to catch up with the Dolphins, but pitcher Jesus Santos allowed only one run in the final inning and struck out centerfield Tae Min, catcher Brendan and second baseman Min Soo to seal the deal for MHS, 13-11.
