When in doubt, the Mix-A-Lots held their lead on Lalaine Pagarao’s unstoppable layups and a set of jumpers from Dion Diaz.
Pagarao’s game high 22 points secured the game by the second half despite the Rockers’ slowly growing momentum.
Rockers’ Kaylani Lebria hammered two-three pointers and a jumper and Melody Johnson scored eight points before the final buzzer, but it was all over.
Pagarao, falling on her knee in a layup attempt, still pushed on with a barrage of two-pointers. Niki Hofschneider aided the Mix-A-Lots’ offense with eight points.
Back-to-back shots from Lebria and Jeraldine Castillo earlier put the Rockers one point ahead 14 minutes into the first half. Castillo led the group with 11 points, Marianas High School student Rachel Abrams scored nine, and Johnson piled eight.
Diaz rallied for five more points in less than five minutes for a 17 total. Madeleine Alegre, Maria Iriarte, and Mercedes Mesa garnered four apiece.
The Mix-A-Lots pulled away, 28-16 at the end of the first half.

Meanwhile, Jaime Mendoza and the rest of team Aye Par Battay defeated the Lazy Buttsss, 57-53 in an earlier game.
Mendoza broke through the Lazy Buttsss’ defense with two three-point field goals and two jump shots in the second half.
Lazy Buttsss’ lead-scorer Ira Palero fired back with three straight baskets along with a layup from Paylinne Joseph.
An evenly matched offense from both teams led to a 29-29 tie in the first half — it was only a matter of time however, before Mendoza scored 10 of her 19 points.
The Lazy Buttsss were anything but what their team name suggested, as Marie Javier picked up on two crucial jumpers. Palero capped off with eight more points for a 21 total.
Aye Par Battay’s Lily Williams led the team with 14 points in the first half before leaving the rest of the game to Angie Ito and Jeralyn Castillo.
Palero kept on pace with a last minute jump shot but came up short after two baskets from Castillo.
