More teams join Youth Bowling League

According to Lucy DeLeon Guerrero, secretary of the Saipan Women’s Thursday Night Bowling Association and one of the coordinators to the 21-under youth bowling games, they were able to gather seven teams to compete this 3rd season, but said they are still open to accept interested groups to participate.

During the 1st season, the league was only able to invite two teams, DL Guerrero said, adding the 2nd season got only five teams to play.

Sue Elis, president of the SWTNBA, said, “We’re still inviting others to join. We still need five more teams.”

DL Guerrero mentioned the total number of participants in this opening season reached 45 players.

“We have more bowlers this season,” the SWTNBA secretary said.

The youth bowling games was launched on Saturday at the Saipan Bowling Center in Beach Road.

The seven teams who registered and started competing were the following: S.V. Sunrisers; Cookies ‘n Cream; DYS T-Bones; Neaten; Lone Crack-R- Boyz; Bad News; and Butterfingerz.

The 3rd season of the 21-under youth bowling games will run for 14 weeks.

The Youth Bowling League is supported by the Division of Youth Services and the Community Guidance Center.
