NICK Sablan notched a net score of 72 to win the Saipan Golf Association’s March Ace of the Month title at the Kingfisher Golf Links on March 17.
Sablan led the competition throughout all 18 holes.
On the front nine, he shot a gross of 39 to take the lead. Sablan maintained his swing and placements during the back nine to end with a gross of 40 and a gross total of 79. Sporting a handicap of 7, his net score was 72, which gave him a one-stroke advantage over the competition.
In second place was Tony Reyes, who edged Larry Deleon Guerrero in a scorecard playoff.
Reyes shot a gross of 47 on the front and a gross of 40 on the back for a total gross score of 87. Aided by a handicap of 14, his net score was 73.
Deleon Guerrero, who also had the same net score, shot 44 on the front nine and 46 on the back nine. His handicap was 17.
Nick Sablan now joins the other 2024 Ace of the Month winners: Larry Deleon Guerrero (January) and Alex Tudela (February).
In the Closest to the Pin optional play, Jung Eun Teach led the list on holes #6 and hole #15. Sablan reigned on hole #12 and bagged the Longest Drive Award on hole #11 while Ed Manibusan ruled on hole #5.
The 2024 April Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s east course. Show time is 8:30 a.m. and tee time is 9 a.m.
