NMI Junior All-Stars, determined to win World Series crown

The Junior Little Leaguers only have one month to the World Series that will be held in Taylor, Michigan in August.

Team manager, Thelma Mizer said the players are still oozing with morale after their 10-9 victory against Guam.

She said Junior All-Stars still have the same determination they showed during the regional championship, and she hopes, “it will stay like that.”

Mizer recounts that team work, and winning spirit contributed a lot to their victory.

“When they started cheering together from the dug out,” Mizer said it kind of giving each of the players an adrenaline surge that helped them perform an excellent job.

The CNMI’s pride took the lead in the earlier inning, she said but Guam came from behind in the middle of the game. There were a number of times they got tied, but when the seventh inning comes, the CNMI All-Stars started boosting each other’s morale that seemed to have added up to their speed and precision in batting.

There had been a number of times that CNMI made it to the World Series, according to Walter Macaranas, also a CNMI Little League official,  but if the Junior All-Stars will just preserve that winning spirit and determination, this year could be the CNMI’s chance to bring home the World Series crown.
