NMI referees’ group holds clinic on Tinian

Arnold Mesa who had been officiating basketball games in the CNMI for years said Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino that hosts the league has demonstrated a good sportsmanship by encouraging all players of the participating teams to join the free clinic that started last Feb. 16 at the Tinian Basketball Court.

He shared the teams some basic lessons prevention of violations and injuries in the game. Specifically, Mesa briefed them about the causes of committing traveling violations.

Of the 25 topics that he plans to teach the players and coaches, Mesa was only able to share 12 of them.

He will share the rest of the topics in the next session on Feb. 23.
