Any protest raised during each game is part of the tournament since it is a right of every team to contest whenever they feel a certain rule has been violated.
That is given, Tenorio said but it is an unfortunate situation that outside the playing ball field, “things happened.”
“How, I really don’t know but I hope things like that would not happen in the future,” he said, adding that the authorities have taken appropriate action and he hopes that managers and coaches are mindful of such situation.
“It smears the name and the reputation of the tournament,” Tenorio said.
Two of the Guam Senior League All Star players were sent home two days ago after they were caught on camera stealing a $3 worth of deck of playing card from the gift shop of Saipan Grand Hotel in the morning of June 28.
The boys paid for the playing cards but only after when the hotel authorities identified them.
About the tournament itself, Tenorio said
This year is the most competitive tournament that he has seen so far since he got involved.
He also said that the Philippines has brought this year the most competitive teams they ever had.
The CNMI Big League played an outstanding game last night to win the championship he said but Tenorio said he gives credit to the Philippine team for the very outstanding ballgame as they managed to come back from a four-run deficit to just one-run deficit.
“It could be anybody’s game,” he said.
Dr. Habana of the Philippines teams said they had a great fun in this year’s tournament where they observed good camaraderie among all the teams.
Most of the games he said are very closely fought and very exciting.
Habana said that for the Philippine delegation, “it’s the best ever showing.”
Indonesia Little League President Achmad Juanda Nugraha said this year’s Asia-Pacific Regional is the very excellent tournament.
And the team participation he said is okay and the most important thing the he noticed is that Saipan has a very excellent people and is a very beautiful island.
“We had no problem in the games except some of the schedules. The organizing committee he said can make a better schedule next time,” he said.
