FLORENCIO Padonia, Lorenzo Sanchez and Shawn Fleming stole the spotlight with their sculpted bodies as they topped their respective categories in the 2024 Dee Clayton Classic & Northern Marianas Bodybuilding Federation competition at the Saipan World Resort on Saturday.
Florencio Padonia, 27, may be new to Saipan but he gave the judges a show from all angles to win the overall title in the Men’s Physique category.
Displaying his body with quarter-half turns and several position changes for better lighting, Padonia was named the overall winner.
He also won first place in the short division while Shawn Fleming settled for second, Randel Nicodemus was third, Athan Taisague was fourth, and EJ Torres was fifth.
In the tall division, Brian (not Bi-an as earlier stated) Lee came out on top while Daniel Matsunaga finished second. In the masters division, Ferdinand Jan Lagmay bagged first place and John Jimeno came in second.
Although this is Padonia’s first time competing on Saipan, he has competed in the Philippines for the past two years. “I feel very grateful,” said Padonia, who trained for this event for the past five months. He said it was tough for him to maintain his physicality due to the demands of his work. “But this event is very nice because it gave an opportunity for all competitors. I would like to thank Gold’s Gym, my family and friends who are here to support me,” he added.

Sharing the stage was Lorenzo Sanchez, a repeat winner.
Sachez returned to the Classic Category with a more refined body this year. He was named overall winner and finished first place in the short division with Shawn Fleming coming in second. Fleming also received the award for Best Abs.
In the tall division, Padonia came out on top once again followed by Ferdinand Jun Lagmay, who was also named the Best Poser. John Jimeno finished third while Daniel Matsunaga came in fourth.

In the Bodybuilding category, Shawn Fleming reigned supreme. His chiseled abs and muscular tone gave him the upper hand in the score cards as he bested Lorenzo Sanchez as the overall and short category winner.
