A total of thirteen (13) archers, 11 male and 2 females who joined the Archery competition in Aimeliik in which Taven Koshiba dominated with 78 total points followed by Derrick Oiterong who got 70 to receive second place, while Clinton Nakamura’s 60 points placed him at third.
As promised to have the Aimeliik challenge as a beginning and will be continued on other days, The Palau Archery Federation organized once more a contest at the Long Island park Saturday, 20thof February from 1pm to 4pm. Registered participants where Dennis Suaristo,Wilson Talender, Elma Rubeang,William Teriong, Hernando Takeshi, Alonz Moses, Jake, Cedric Tatingal, Ken Koshiba.
The event was divided into two categories based on distance namely the 20 meters (60 feet) distance, 40 meters (120 feet) distance. Dictating the shorter distance was Hernando Takeshi who was able to get a total 122 points to grab first place while William Teriong gets to be placed at second after scoring 102. On third place is Cedric Tatingal following a great game of 94 points while Alonz Moses’ 60 points left him on fourth spot.
On the other hand, Cedric Tatingal bounced back from a loss at shorter distances after scoring a total of 11 points to win and capture the number one spot for the 40 meter distance. Following him is a tie between Hernando Takeshi and Jake who gets second after managing to score 10 points apiece.
The association of Archery reiterated that this is just the beginning as they plan to do a program every two weeks or once a month where everybody is encouraged to join.
